Obituary of Dallas Harold Woll
Please share a memory of Dallas to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Dallas Harold Woll passed away peacefully with his last remaining sibling, Mary Hale, by his side Saturday, December 3, 2022, after a long battle with Leukemia.
Dallas lived life with an admirable level of enthusiasm; he worked hard but also focused on having a good time. He taught his children the value of experiencing life with a lively sense of humor.
After spending his childhood in the remote and tiny mill towns in the redwood forests of northwestern California, Dallas joined the Air Force and spent a memorable time in Japan. He married Theresa Woll in 1972 and they had three children, Matt, Luke, and Lily.
Dallas and Theresa started a very successful Roto Rooter franchise in Lake County in 1978, which they ran for 36 years. He was passionate about the business and enjoyed staying up to date on the latest in the sanitation world.
Dallas led life with gusto and a determined sense of adventure. He had many great travel experiences, including riding the ferries and cruise lines in Alaska and Europe; visiting friends from the Peace Corps in Africa and the Pacific; and chartering sailboats with friends in the tropics.
He loved boating, from racing E-Scows and single-handing sloops on Clearlake to, later in life, pontoon boating on Blue Lakes.
At home, he enjoyed projects like building a custom "D Woll-designed" wood splitter from old tractor parts and creating his own park with a fountain and streams. He enjoyed spending time with his grandson, Caton, going for car rides, boating or watching trains.
Dallas inspired a sense of adventure and community-building in all those who knew him and instilled a strong work ethic in his children. As a creative and adventurous soul, Dallas was known by many for his great sense of humor and his ability to spin a yarn. He enjoyed and was interested in others' ideas and successes. He touched the lives of many different people in Lake County and the world.
We imagine him driving his '55 Chevy Bel Air out into the sunset, pedal to the metal.
Theresa and family plan to celebrate Dallas's life with a memorial January 7, 2023, at 2 p.m. at the Kelseyville Senior Citizen Center. All are invited to come share memories.
