Obituary of Richard Lee Gooch

Richard Lee Gooch, born on June 21, 1933 passed away at the age of 89, in Lakeport, California, due to complications from surgery. He was proceeded in death by his parents, his beloved Grandmother, Elizabeth B. Hayes and brother Robert Gooch, and wife Elizabeth Gooch. He is survived by his children Craig Gooch, Michelle Benjamin, and April Ranzi; numerous grandchildren & great-grandchildren; and his longtime partner Connie Samson. Richard was born in Springfield, Ohio and at the age of 17 joined the military serving in both the Air Force, then the Navy. After his career in the Military, he worked for the U.S. Department of Defense working on the Distant Early Warning (DEW) Line. Richard loved sports, most notably football, and was a die-hard Ohio State Buckeye fan. Well known for his friendly and charismatic personality, Richard had numerous friends where he lived at the Bevins Street Senior Housing. He will forever live in the hearts and minds of all that had the pleasure of knowing and loving him. May GOD bless, and take care of this wonderful man. A private memorial will be held in Springfield, Ohio.
