Obituary of Roy Oom

On June 2, 1942, in Gottenberg, Sweden, Ulf "Roy" Rane Oom was born to Alf and Birgit Oom. When Roy was 7 years old his family took a ship to America and settled in St. Paul, Minnesota. In a new land, Roy quickly learned the English language. He took a liking to Roy Rogers and Trigger his horse. He told his parents that his name would be Roy, after his hero, and all who knew him in life, he was forever known as Roy.
Roy grew up in St. Paul. He graduated from Johnson High School in 1959. He went to Minneapolis School of Art and Design and was quite good in his artistic talents. He served in the U.S. Army Corp Reserves. Around 1980, he got tired of the Minnesota cold and decided to move to California . He lived in California until his passing on December 22, 2022.
Roy belonged to Local 38 Plumbers and Pipefitters Association until his retirement. He took great joy riding his motorcycle with friends and belonged to Clearlake Road Riders and the Viet Nam Veterans MC Club.
Roy is pre-deceased by his parents Alf and Birgit Oom and his good friend since childhood, Pat Clausen.
Roy is survived by His sons Roy Schulz and Elliot(Megan) Oom. He is also survived by grandson, Easton Oom and the love of his life Linda Oom Alexander.
