Please share a memory of Edward to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
In Loving Memory of Edward J. Reynolds Edward "Ed" Reynolds passed away peacefully from this life to be with his Lord and Savior on October 10, 2019. He had made the Bay Area his home until he retired to Lake County where he had often spent summers vacationing. Ed was a baker by trade and his career spanned over five decades. At the tender age of 12, he became a young apprentice at Turley's Bakery in Sebastopol. He was welcomed there and was affectionately dubbed "Cookie" at the family-owned bakery. After the attack on Pearl Harbor, he voluntarily enlisted in the Navy. He advanced to Baker First Class serving aboard the U.S.S. Helena after the light cruiser underwent repairs at Mare Island and returned to service. He later served aboard the U.S.S. Zuni (a sea-going tug) after the Helena was sunk. Ed returned to civilian life and resumed his successful career as a baker employed by, managing, or owning various bakeries in the Bay Area. Ed enjoyed travel and was so impressed by the nineteen story Cross in Groom, Texas that he made two more trips there to observe additional developments at the inspirational site. Ed had a wonderful sense of humor, an engaging smile that instantly made you feel welcome, and a firm handshake; he was a warm, kind-hearted gentleman. He had become a Christian believer later in life and had enjoyed church services, Bible studies, and fellowship. He was truly a "gem" who will be dearly missed by those who knew him. Ed is survived by his wife, Margaret of nearly sixteen years; daughter, Linda (Brian) Pearce of Grass Valley; adult grandchildren, Diana and Zach and their families; nephew, Dick (Vicky) Wood of Georgia, and their family; and stepdaughter, Nancy Williams of Upper Lake.
